FreeFortnite Cup
Earlier this month, Epic Games announced that they would be hosting the #FreeFortnite Cup, a tournament featuring real-life swag and other prizes. The tournament is meant to reward top players, but it also acts as a way for players on all platforms to play together before Season 7 of Fortnite goes live.
The tournament will take place on August 23. It'll last for four hours, giving players enough time to play up to 12 matches. Players will be awarded points based on things such as eliminations, wins and placements. The top 1200 players will earn a piece of gaming equipment. The list of prizes includes a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 tablet, an Alienware gaming laptop and an Xbox One X.
Soaring 50s
Earlier this week, Fortnite received a new limited time mode called Soaring 50s. This mode is based on the 50v50 game style and features changes to weapons and mobility items.
This mode will allow players to launch and redeploy gliders. It also features a new jump pad to help players take advantage of this feature.
